Home-based players will likely get the nod ahead of bench-warming foreign-based stars ahead of the second stint of new Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah.

Appiah is anxious to revive the West Africans who have been bruised for many years in its quest to win the Africa Cup of Nations title.

The returning Ghana coach will shake-up the team with some of the fringe and bench-warming foreign-based players expected to make way for local import.

Former coach Avram Grant was heavily criticized after he sidelined several top local players in preference for bench-warming foreign-based players.

But it appears the situation will change after Appiah received a thumping endorsement to return as Ghana coach.

He is expected to give the in-form local players a chance to stake a claim in the team ahead of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers and crucially the 2018 World Cup qualifiers.

Medeama star Kwesi Donsu, Kotoko's Emmanuel Gyamfi, Hearts Of Oak's Inusah Musah, Ebusua Dwarfs Nicholas Gyan as well as WAFA's Gideon Waja amongst others could get a chance to impress the new trainer.
