Ghana FA Executive Committee member George Afriyie insists he is not desperate to become the Vice President of the association.
Afriyie is widely tipped to succeed Fred Crentsil as the next deputy to Kwesi Nyantakyi at the Ghana FA.
The Black Stars management committee chairman is the only surviving member left in the Executive Committee since the Ghana FA adopted a semi-autonomy dispensation in 2005.
All the other members elected onto that first Executive Committee have either turned down the opportunity to run for office or have been voted out, as in the case of Fred Crentsil.
This makes George Afriyie the most senior member of the new Ghana FA Executive Committee to be inaugurated soon alongside President Kwesi Nyantakyi.
But the Director of Ghana Premier League club Liberty Professionals say this does not guarantee him the position of Ghana FA Vice President since it is now the prerogative of Kwesi Nyantakyi.
ââ¬ÅI am not eager and I donââ¬â¢t even want to comment on this,â⬠he told Starr FM.
ââ¬ÅAccording to our statutes, it is the FA Presidentââ¬â¢s prerogative to appoint a new Vice President.
ââ¬ÅLeave that to the President of the FA. Letââ¬â¢s not preempt that discussion by putting out names.ââ¬
