Suncheon: Brazilian Ricardo Lopes scored a hat-trick as 2016 AFC Champions League finalists Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors stormed into a 5-0 win over Jeonnam Dragons in their K League Classic match on Saturday.

Ko Mu-yeol was the first to get on the score-sheet with a strike on the stroke of half-time. Lopes registered his first goal eight minutes after the re-start before Kim Shin-wook extended their lead on 66 minutes.

Just two minutes later, Lopes scored his second and Jeonbuk’s fourth before completing his triple on the stroke on full-time to put a lid on their second-half rampage at Suncheon Palma Stadium.

The emphatic win placed Jeonbuk top of the league table sitting on 64 points from 36 matches, just three points atop second-positioned FC Seoul.

The 2006 AFC Champions League winners beat Seoul 5-3 on aggregate in the semi-finals earlier to book the final showdown against inaugural winners Al Ain of the UAE.

Jeonbuk will entertain the Emiratis at home in the first leg on November 11 before travelling to Al Ain’s stronghold at the Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium a week later for the deciding second leg.
