Lukaku and Barkley the difference for Everton - Koeman

Published on: 10 April 2017

Everton boss Ronald Koeman has indicated that he would love to keep both Romelu Lukaku and Ross Barkley at the club.

The star pair continue to be linked with possible summer moves away from Goodison Park with clubs such as Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea and Arsenal being linked.

After seeing the duo contribute greatly in Sunday's 4-2 win over Leicester City, Koeman insists he wants both the Belgian striker and English midfielder to remain on Merseyside.

"We try to keep the best players," Koeman said.

"We spoke a lot about Ross and Rom because they are really important.

"Most of the time the quality of the players can be the difference between Everton and the opponent, and they played really well."
