The arrival of Rashid Sumaila has undoubtedly infested the Al Gharafa side with the spirit of winning as they have added league leaders El Jaish to their list of victims.

The relentless Ghana defender, powered 10-men Al-Gharafa to pick all three points away at the Ad-Doha Sports Stadium.

El Jaish were favourites before the game following the magnificent performance which has seen them reside on top of the league table in comfort.

But the result oriented Rashid Sumaila powered his side to pick the vital win away from home.

Krisztian Nemeth opened the scoring for Sumaila’s side in the 25th minute and went into the break with the 1-0 advantage.

The home side leveled the scoring through Rashidov but Vladmir Weiss stole the win for the visitors when a Rashid Sumaila long ball found Nemeth who was brought down in the Jaish penalty area.

Sumaila solidly guided the back to ensure his side went away with the win to keep their title hopes alive.

The Tigers were 13th before the arrival of Rashid and are now 4th on the table with five points separating them and leaders El Jaish.
