President John Mahama has challenged voters to fully participate in the ongoing exhibition of the biometric voters register to avoid disappointments on Election Day.
The President?s call follows reports of an abysmal response to the exhibition which begun Saturday.
The 10-day exercise will afford the over thirteen million eligible Ghanaians captured on the roll the opportunity to verify their names and other details.
Speaking at a durbar of Chiefs and People of Cape Coast to climax the Fetu Afahye Festival, President Mahama cautioned voters against taking the exhibition exercise for granted.
?...From today 1st September until 10th September, the EC is exhibiting the biometric voters? register. I urge all of you to take time off to go and check and make sure that your names and your details have been captured in the voters? register.?
?It will be painful for you shout kukrudu, aashi, aaashi or you shout ide be ke ke...and all the slogans the political parties have only to go on voting day and find out that your name is not in the register.?
The President also challenged the youth to reject all forms of inducements from politicians to engage in violence.
President Mahama attended the Fetu Afahye Festival with some Chinese Contractors brought on board to complete the Kotokraba Market.
He also promised the people that his government will ensure the completion of the Cape Coast stadium.
Meanwhile, the various political parties have alerted their officers especially polling agents to be vigilant throughout the ten-day period for the exhibition exercise.
