Ghana attacker Mahatma Otoo scored the consolation goal for Sogndal IF who slipped to a 3-1 reverse at Sarpsborg 08 in the Norwegian Eliteserien on Sunday.

The 22-year-old former Hearts of Oak striker who is capped once by Ghana scored late (83rd minute) but his strike was not enough to help Sogndal avoid their ninth defeat in their last twelve games.

Sarpsborg 08, the hosts, took a 3-0 lead after scoring in the closing stages of the first-half and at the early stages of the second-half.

Otoo's goal was a trademark effort. A well-measured cross from Eirik Skaasheim found the Ghanaian unmarked inside the box and he planted a firm header which came off the body of the Sarpsborg keeper before rolling in.

It was Otoo's 8th goal of the season.
