Mahatma Otoo set to join Egyptian giants Al Ahly

Egyptian side Al Ahly are close to signing Ghanaian striker Mahatma Otoo who currently plays for Ghana Premier League club Hearts of Oak.

The Cairo giants will land the 20-year-old player on a permanent basis, although negotiations about contract length are still ongoing. Otoo, who previously played on loan for Tunisia's Esperance in 2010, made only one appearance with the Ghanaian senior national football team. Otoo began his career in 2008 at 16 years old with Ghanaian club Sporting Saint Mirren, before joining Hearts of Oak one year later. Ahly's new technical staff, headed by coach Hossam El-Badry, is reportedly trying to strengthen the team's frontline amid rumours that the Brazilian striker forward is on his way out.
