Ghana striker Abdul Majeed Waris has hailed his French side Lorient's blistering form that saw them dispatch Metz 5-1 to boost their chance of beating the drop this season.

The Ghana international fired his ninth goal of the season in Saturday night's game that saw them move out of the relegation zone first time in seven months.

Waris says they must focus on their upcoming matches to ensure that they are completely of out the relegation woods after their recent upsurge in form.

"Great performance yesterday with the team. Fans are always amazing.few more important games to go. allez FCL," Waris wrote on Sunday.

Waris lived up to his recent form with another goal to help Lorient beat Metz 5-1 in the Ligue 1 match on Saturday.

The goal was the former Right to Dream Academy player's 9th in a season that has been tumultuous for Lorient.

Waris, who has vowed to help the club mastermind one of the greatest escape plan in French football history, responded with yet another fabulous goal at the Estadio du Moustoir.

Michael Ciani gave Lorient the lead before Chiek Diabate pulled parity for the away side.

But Waris who was very lively in the game dragged his side back into the lead on the 55th minute.

Jimmy Cabot who without a doubt was named man-of-the-match added two goals before Cameroon star Benjamin Moukandjo added a seal to make it 5-1 and most importantly bag all three points on the day.

The win moves Lorient out of the relegation zone for the first time in seven months, placing them on 16th position on the league table with 34 points and with 5 games to end the season.
