Malaga confirm Christian Atsu injury, Ghana ace undergoes test

Spanish side Malaga have confirmed Ghana winger Christian Atsu has undergone medical examination after he picked up an injury in their 3-0 win over Getafe last Friday.

Manager Javi Garcia was forced to pull out the Ghanaian in the second half after he complained of pains in his thigh.

Initial results revealed a hamstring injury and the club has confirmed the Ghana international has undergone further test at the health complex Clinics Rincon -La Rosaleda to know the extent of damage.

“On the other hand , Christian Atsu  was replaced last Friday in the Malaga- Getafe game after feeling physical discomfort.,” a statement on the official website of the Club read.

“He has undergone medical tests today at the health complex Clinics Rincon -La Rosaleda.

“The Ghanaian suffered a hamstring injury in the rectus femoris of the quadriceps in his right leg , pending developments ahead of its availability in the upcoming matches."

The 24-year-old scored on his debut and will need to pass a late fitness test to be ready for their next fixture against Villarreal on Saturday.
