The decision on possible charges against sex-suspect Ghana midfielder Kingsley Sarfo is delaying as prosecutor waits for more witnesses.
The Malmo FF attacking enforcer appeared in Malmo District Court last December after being charged with raping a 15-year-old girl for five times.
Sarfo is also suspected of two cases of sexual exploitation of children against another girl.
The prosecutor Ola Lavie requests that the 23-year-old be detained for two weeks as he awaits more witnesses.
"More witnesses will be questioned and some technical analyzes will be carried out," said prosecutor Ola Lavie.
Sarfo denies all criminal charges and does not agree to be detained. Therefore, a resignation debate will be held on Monday, where the prosecutor will present his evidence and a schedule of progress in the pre-trial.
Malmö FF closed off Kingsley Sarfo when the first crime suspicions were discovered in September. Then he chose to let him start training with the team in January, to turn him back when the club got to know the new suspicions in February.
In Sweden, The punishment for rape against children, that is having sex or equivalent with a child under fifteen years, is at least two years.
The Ghana international was arrested in Sweden on Wednesday for raping a 15-year-old girl which is believed took place in Uppsala and Stockholm, between March 2016 and July 2017.
Sarfo was handed a debut call-up to feature for the senior national team of Ghana in the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Uganda after opting to play for Ghana ahead of Sweden.
