Malmo FF coach denies talks to sign Ghana midfielder Anthony Annan
Anthony Annan won't be joining Swedish champions.

Malmo FF coach Age Hareide has ruled out signing Ghana midfielder Anthony Annan who is available on a free transfer.

The 28-year-old is available on the transfer market after the expiration of his contract with German Bundesliga side Schalke 04 at the end of the season.

Malmo believes new signing and Annan’s countryman Enoch Kofi Adu is a better option and also five years younger.

“No, that's not true we are in talks to sign him,” Hareide said.

“Yes, earlier we were interested. But nothing came of it and now we have bought Adu. We thought that was a better option, he is younger and in the same category.”

The Swedish transfer window is opened until 11 August but according Hareide, Malmo FF are happy with their squad.

“We are satisfied with the squad. We have not discussed any new names.”
