Man City boss Pellegrini worried over long-term Kompany fitness

Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini admits they have long-term injury concerns for Vincent Kompany.

The Belgian has not started in three months but is back for the crunch title clash against second-placed Tottenham.

Pellegrini said: "Vincent has worked the last three weeks without any problems. He played 45 minutes in a friendly with the Under 21s so I think that he is ready now to play.

"It's very difficult to find a particular thing about a muscle injury. There's a lot of things you can do to try to have less injuries but no-one will be sure you are not going to have any more.

"It's impossible to know but he's working without any problems, without fear, so it would be bad luck if he has another injury."
