Juventus' second leg comeback was undone deep into second half stoppage time as Cristiano Ronaldo converted a penalty to send Real Madrid to the Champions League semis. The FC panel examine the biggest moments between Real Madrid and Juventus, including the late penalty for Real Madrid, Gianluigi Buffon's red card and more. Gianluigi Buffon didn't hold back when asked about the penalty decision at the end of the match that gave Cristiano Ronaldo the opportunity to squash Juventus' comeback. Zinedine Zidane believes Michael Oliver's decision to award Real Madrid a penalty against Juventus was clearly correct and is happy to reach the Champions League semi-finals. Massimiliano Allegri said that Gianluigi Buffon's actions were only human after he was sent off when Juventus conceded a last-minute penalty against Real Madrid. Mistakes made in the first leg of Juventus' UEFA Champions League quarter-final with Real Madrid cost them their place in the semis, according to Andrea Pirlo.

Michael Oliver has been appointed to referee the 2017-18 FA Cup final, the Football Association has announced.

Oliver, 33, will take charge of the match at Wembley between Manchester united and Chelsea on Saturday, May 19. He will be assisted by Lee Betts and Ian Hussin, with Lee Mason as the fourth official. Neil Swarbrick will be the first video assistant referee (VAR) in FA Cup Final history.

The Northumberland official became the centre of attention earlier this month when he refereed the Champions League quarterfinal second leg between Real Madrid and Juventus at the Bernabeu.

With the tie poised at 3-3 on aggregate, Oliver awarded the last-minute penalty to Madrid and was heavily criticised by Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon, who was sent off in the aftermath of the decision.

The Juventus goalkeeper told reporters after the match that Oliver had "a garbage bin for a heart," while threats and abuse directed toward him and his wife, also a referee, was "strongly condemned" by UEFA.
