Man Utd boss Mourinho weighs into Renato Sanches Bayern Munich woes

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has weighed into the debate over Renato Sanches' situation at Bayern Munich.

Mourinho used the example of Sanches to highlight how difficult it is for youngsters.

He said: “We had a kid in Portugal, Sanches — he played in the European Championship final against France.

“He is a European champion at the age of 18, 19. But he doesn't play in Bayern Munich. The last match he played, they played Hoffenheim and lost.

“Maybe it is not his fault, but he was in that team — so is he going to play the next match? I have doubts. Is he going to play in the Champions League quarter-final against Real Madrid? I have doubts.

“At the highest level it is really difficult. I think the easiest situation is no pressure — and when is there no pressure? There is no pressure when you're the only option.

“Manchester United with 15 injuries… Marcus Rashford has to play, Timmy Fosu-Mensah has to play. Playing well, playing bad, they are the only options. So they play.

"And there is no pressure playing in a team in mid-table. You win today, you lose tomorrow, you finish with 50 points or you finish with 47. You finish eighth or you finish tenth . . . that's a wonderful life. A life I don't want for me."
