Man Utd’s EFL Cup ‘special victory’ for doubted Ibrahimovic says agent

Zlatan Ibrahimovic's agent Mino Raiola has labelled Sunday's EFL Cup triumph as a very special one for his client.

Ibrahimovic scored twice as United beat Southampton 3-2 at Wembley to clinch their fifth League Cup trophy, and the 32nd overall title of his career.

Although this particular cup does not hold as much significance as others in England do, Raiola has revealed that Zlatan was absolutely delighted to win it.

“I talked to him this morning and he was very, very happy, very delighted," Raiola told talkSPORT.

“I have to say myself also - he has won a lot of things - but for me this was a special cup because of the unbelief the Premier League has shown towards him before he came here, I think this was a special victory."

Regarding Ibra's move to England, Raiola added: “It was a challenge.

“It was one of those challenges that he wanted to take because he could easily have gone for more money or for other clubs but one of those challenges was 'let's go to the Premier League and prove we can do it in the Premier League'.

“I was not having one minute of doubt that he could but a lot of people in the Premier League, or around England, had this doubt."
