Man Utd sack beloved veteran steward over PC madness (& the Dingles are involved!)

Veteran Manchester United steward Vince Miller has been sacked for calling a female colleague “love".

The Sun reports Miller, 82, who is mates with Sir Alex Ferguson, is said to have been “forced out" after three decades after a hostess complained.

She said Vince put his arm around her at a game and called her “love".

Other colleagues say they are “gutted" for Vince and feel the club has acted too harshly against a “real old school gentleman".

Vince, whose son Danny is a huge hit as Emmerdale's Aaron Dingle, was a firm favourite with fans and veteran United players who he would interview on match days as a compère in Old Trafford's corporate suites.

A United match day hostess, who did not wish to be named, said: “We are all gutted for Vince, he's a real old school gentleman, completely harmless and was always a pleasure to work with.

“He has been working for the club for as long as people can remember and absolutely adores his job.

“He is devastated at losing it and no-one can believe the club has treated such a lovely old guy in this manner.

“Fergie loves him to pieces and will no doubt be astonished to hear about what has happened after what seems to be such an innocuous incident."
