Hearts of Oak chief Alhaji Akambi has contradicted the club's medical team by claiming that midfielder Samudeen Ibrahim will return to training on Friday.

This comes after the club's medical team ruled the influential midfielder out of action for two weeks after suffering a foot injury on his Ghana Premier League debut last Sunday.

The former Division One League top player suffered the injury during Hearts of Oak 1-0 win over New Edubiase at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday.

But Akambi splashed a post on Facebook claiming the player will be at training on Friday ahead of their visit to the mining town.

“Come to the training grounds on Friday and see Samudeen Ibrahim AKA Modric training,” Alhaji Akambi wrote on Facebook.

Akambi's claim contradicts the club's medical team's report on the midfielder's injury status.

This means the talented player will be available for the Phobians when they take on Medeama in their second match on the season on Sunday in Takwa.

Ibrahim is meeting expectations after he was named last season's Division One League best player during days at King Solomon FC.
