Birmingham City manager Harry Redknapp insists Afriyie Acquah is still top on their wishlist despite there not being any developments on the move.

The Championship side are bent on signing the Ghana midfielder from Serie A side Torino.

Reports of an €8m bid from Birmingham for Acquah but talks have slowed.

Birmingham's move to land Nigeria international Ogneyi Onazi suggested Acquah was no longer needed.

But Redknapp has made it clear his club were ''always'' pursuing the Ghanaian.

''He has always been one we’ve been after, we’ve not suddenly gone from Onazi to Acquah, we were always on Acquah anyway,'' he told the Birmingham Mail.
