Chelsea coach Jose Mourinho could be thwarted in his bid to land Ghanian defender Baba Rahman as rival Manchester City are working behind the scene to capture the Germany-based player.

Rahman has impressed at Bundesliga outfit Augsburg this season and has attracted interest from around the Premier League.

The Sun suggests Chelsea sent scouts to watch the 20-year-old in action in recent times.

But the Blues pursuit of the talented star could only manage to spur Manchester City into action and could now miss out on the promising left-back.
