Kwadwo Asamoah was wanted by Manchester United and City.

Manchester-based Premier League rivals United and City are reported to have inquired about the availability of Ghana international Kwadwo Asamoah.

According to Tuttosport newspaper, the English Premier League giants approached Juventus but they were rejected immediately.

Juventus coach Antonio Conte is not ready to sell his highly-rated midfielder who hugely impressed in an unusual left-back role.

" 'Asa' is ready to take the left wing of Juventus for a long time," Conte is quoted as saying.

Asamoah was acquired from Udinese last summer in a co-ownership deal but Juventus bought him outright last month.

The 24-year-old made 27 Serie A appearances and scored two goals as Juventus retained their Serie A title.
