Manchester United eye summer move for Inter striker

Premier League side Manchester United are eyeing a summer move for Inter striker and captain Mauro Icardi.

The Argentina international recently return to the Nerazzurri starting line-up following a spell on the bench after Inter coach Roberto Mancini criticised the forward for his lack of movement in the team.

According to the Manchester Evening News, the Red Devils are preparing a €30 million summer bid for the 23-year-old who has three years left on his current contract, after penning a new deal with the Milanese giants until 2019 last summer.

It’s reported the Nerazzurri could have to part ways with the former Barcelona youth team player if the club fails to reach the Champions League for the 2016-2017 season.

The former Sampdoria forward has hit two goals in his last two games against Chievo and Hellas Verona since returning to the side after being dropped from the starting XI for the Milan derby, a game he subsequently missed a penalty in after coming on as a second half substitute.

The 2014-2015 Serie A joint top scorer with 22 goals, Icardi has made 21 appearances in Serie A this season for the Biscione finding the net on 10 occasions.

In total the Rosario-born striker has made 79 appearances in Serie A for the Nerazzurri scoring 41 times, since making a €11.7m move from the Blucerchiati in the summer of 2013.
