Andy Cole will arrive in Ghana later this month

Manchester United legend Andy Cole will visit Ghana later this month as the guest of honour for TV3's launch of their coverage of the 2014/15 English Premier League, GHANAsoccernte.com can confirm.

The 42-year-old will arrive in Ghana on August 13, three days before the start of the new English Premier League season.

Ghanaian television network, TV3 has acquired the rights to beam the upcoming season of the English Premiership live.

The station will be holding a grand launch of their acquisition and have invited the ex England international to be their guest of honour.

Andy Cole is considered a cult hero in the English Premier League where he holds the record as the second all-time leading scorer in the division.

Cole was most prominent during his six year stay with Manchester United where he formed a formidable strike partnership with Dwight Yorke to power the Red Devils to several honours including the prestigious UEFA Champions League in that memorable final against Bayern Munich in 1999.

He also played for Arsenal, Newcastle United, Blackburn Rovers, Fulham, Manchester City, Portsmouth and Sunderland in the English top flight.

He announced his retirement in 2008 and went into coaching amongst other charity projects he is involved with.
