Manchester United considered to appoint current Arsenal head coach Arsene Wenger when Sir Alex Ferguson announced his desire to leave the managerial role at the Old Trafford in 2002, before changing his mind, according to The Sun.

Anyway, the Frenchman reportedly rejected the offer as former Arsenal chairman Peter Hill-Wood revealed last night: “I don’t think Arsene has ever been tempted.”

Arsenal won the Premier League title in the 2001/02 campaign.
