Manchester United are keeping a close eye on Trabzonspor forward Abdul Wajeed Waris and even sent assistant manager Ryan Giggs to make a personal check on the Ghana international last week.
Giggs was at Trabzonspor's Europa League clash with Lokeren last Thursday in an attempt to establish whether the 22-year-old is a player who will sell football tickets - in other words, whether he is worth monitoring for the long-term, after the Red Devils receiving positive reports about Waris' start to life in Turkish football.
Istanbul-based daily newspaper Milliyet reports made a favourable impression on Giggs, but its extremely unlikely that Trabzonspor would allow they only signed in the summer to leave for anything less than €15 million.
Ghana star's stock continues to rise
Trabzonspor spent €6m to sign Waris two months ago and that deal represented something of a coup for the Turkish club, beating competition from Lille in particular for the exciting youngster's signature.
Waris arrived on the Black Sea coast with a reputation for scoring goals consistently at a slightly lower level, including finishing as the Swedish league's top scorer back in 2012.

Talent clear despite recent spot of club-hopping
That 23-goal campaign earned the primarily left-sided attacker a move to Spartak Moscow, but he didn't make the grade in the Russian capital and soon found himself on loan in France with Valenciennes.
Ligue 1 definitely suited the pacy forward's game and Waris adapted quickly, scoring nine times in 16 appearances during the second half of the season.
Valenciennes lost their battle against the drop despite that impact though, which effectively put paid to his chances of a permanent transfer.
World Cup cameo followed by Turkish transfer
United are far from the only club who've shown interest in a player that featured for Ghana at the World Cup in Brazil, in a 55-minute cameo against Portugal in their final group game.
Chelsea and Arsenal have also previously shown interest in one of Africa's brightest young talents, although that was more than two years ago when the goals were flowing in Sweden for FC Haken.
Remember the name Man United fans
Sending Giggs to take a look at the player in action shows that United are at least flirting with the idea of tabling a formal offer though, despite their cast of star-studded forwards and the huge step up playing in the Premier League would represent.
Perhaps the starlet's versatility is a factor, with Waris capable of playing on the left, behind a central striker or on the opposite flank if required.
Even if the United legend sent a strong report back to Louis van Gaal don't expect an offer when the January transfer window opens, with this more of a long-term process as United look to see if a potential transfer target can fulfil his raw potential.
