Memphis Depay is arguable one of the most talented young footballers in the world at this moment and has completed a £31m move to Manchester United.

The 21year old signed a four year contract with the option of a further year with the Red Devils. He finished the season as Eredivisie's top scorer with 22 goals as PSV secured their first Dutch title since 2008.

The talented footballer is the son of a Ghanaian father and a Dutch mother and he was born in Moordrecht, South Holland, Netherlands. His parents split up when he was aged four.

Depay is known for the numerous tattoos he has, most of which are symbolic. He has one on his left arm dedicated to his grandfather – his biggest inspiration – who died the day after Memphis' 15th birthday. He has another one of his self-given nickname that's inked across his chest: 'Dreamchaser'.

Despite his unhealthy relationship with his father that led to him dropping his Ghanaian surname from the back of his shirt, Memphis Depay may still have some love for Ghana and may want that connection with the African country.

Memphis as he has chosen to wear on the back of his shirt now, shows his love for Ghana with a tattoo of what looks like a map of Ghana on his left thigh.

Known for expressing himself through the ink, this may be a way of expressing his connection and love for the West African Country.

The Dutch international was part of the Dutch under-17 team which won the 2011 European Championship and could have represented Ghana at the senior level but chose to represent the Netherlands.

He made his senior international debut in 2013, and the following year was part of their squad which came third at the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

Memphis who is tipped to be an instant hit at Old Trafford like Cristiano Ronaldo follows in the footsteps of Jerome Boateng, another player who could have represented Ghana.

The World Cup winner with Germany at the Brazil 2014 World Cup also born to a Ghanaian father has a tattoo of an African map on his left shoulder with the inscription 'Ghana'.

Jerome opted to play for Germany while his brother Kelvin Prince Boateng chose Ghana.
