Mancini: Ranocchia has told me he wants to leave Inter

Published on: 09 January 2016

Inter coach Roberto Mancini has admitted that defenders Dodo and Andrea Ranocchia could leave the club during the January transfer window.

Both players have struggled to find regular playing time this season as Ranocchia has been usurped by summer signings Miranda and Jeison Murillo. Dodo has also made just one substitute appearance this season.

“From what I’ve read in the papers, the two clubs have been negotiating over Dodo. He’s just come back from an injury and he needs to play,” Mancini told reporters during his pre-match press conference.

“Sampdoria want him and we have a lot of full-backs.”

Meanwhile, Mancini admitted 27-year-old Italian international centre-back Ranocchia has asked for a transfer and has recently been linked with a move to the English Premier League.

“He’s asked to be transferred, but at the moment nothing is happening in terms of negotiations.”
