Manolo Marquez resigns as Las Palmas coach

UD Las Palmas announced on Tuesday morning that coach Manolo Marquez has resigned as first team coach. Marquez took the decision following Sunday’s 2-0 home defeat to CD Leganes.

The coach oversaw two wins and four defeats in just six league games in charge after taking over this summer. He leaves the team in 15th place in the LaLiga Santander table.

Marquez, who will remain at the club and take a post in youth development, will appear before the press on Tuesday afternoon to explain his decision. Coaches Juan Carlos Valeron and Paquito Ortiz will take charge of the first team until a permanent replacement is found.
