Dutch Eerste Divisie will have to perform quick scans on Ghanaian defender Marcel Appiah after he limped off the pitch during their 3-1 win over De Treffers on Thursday night.

The impressive 26-year-old wing-half suffered a leg injury and was replaced in the 23rd minute as his NEC side continued their consistent form with another commanding display.

NEC doctors will quickly discover the extend of the damage to the German-born defender on Friday morning and determine how long he will be in the treatment room.

Appiah has started 11 and completed 10 games for NEC, given three assists.

Appiah was born to a Ghanaian father and a German mother and has declared his intentions of playing for the Black Stars.
