Marchisio: Napoli playing Juventus will not decide the title

Published on: 07 February 2016

Juventus midfielder Claudio Marchisio says the title race still has a long way to run and that the Bianconeri’s upcoming fixture against Napoli won’t decide anything.

Both of the clubs are currently on long winning streaks in Serie A and look to be the closest competitors for the title, and a lot of importance had been placed on their meeting next weekend.

“Napoli have a two point advantage at the top, but even a victory for them would not give them a peaceful ride to the title,” said Marchisio to Mediaset Premium.

“For us, the three points would be important to help us continue our momentum,” he continued.

Marchisio also took the time to comment on Napoli midfielder Marek Hamsik, giving an insight into their relationship.

“I admire Hamsik as a player and as a person, he’s a friend of mine and he’s having a great year.”
