Andre Ayew says Marseille have gazed their eyes on Champions League spot after losing at Paris St-Germain in the French top-flight over the weekend.

Marseille were beaten 2-0 at the Parc des Princes with goals from Maxwell Scherrer Cabelino Andrade and Edinson Roberto Cavani Gómez.

The Stade Velodrome side have falled a staggering 21 points behind PSG in the title race and their Ghanaian international remains defiant about their chances of finishing in the top three.

"The frustration dominates but the result makes sense. Paris showed a higher level. But we have nothing to be ashamed of this defeat,” Ayew said

“ In the first period, it was well kept and has created some opportunities. Their first goal hurt us.

“If we had managed to get the first fifteen minutes of the second period without conceding, we could further tease.

"It is better to lose rather than trying to play with all the time. For us to hang onto third place is our ultimate aim.”
