Marseille hold the advantage in Andre Ayew despite Liverpool, Arsenal interest - agent Abedi Pele

Marseille star Andre Ayew could remain at Stade Velodrome beyond the current season, according to his father Abedi Pele who is acting as his agent even though English side Liverpool and Arsenal are interested in the winger.

The Ghanaian is one of several star players whose contract is due to expire in June, and he was widely tipped to leave OM for greener pastures.

However, it appears that the 25-year-old is ready to consider an offer from Marseille before listening to proposals from abroad.

"I've always been at the heart of the discussions. We will put on the table all that can be offered", he said.

"But do not forget one thing: if Andre is here today, it is thanks to Olympique Marseille(OM). So the first case to consider is that of OM."

"If he wants something else? That's the life of a footballer, to keep on dreaming. But in the case of Andre, he is a child of the club."

"We must be objective: he is loved, did a good job in Marseille, so the proposal of the club must be seen first.

"His dream is to win the championship. So obviously it means to play the Champions League next."

Andre Ayew has been in fine form ever since he nailed down a regular starting berth at Stade Velodrome, bagging 39 goals in 150 Ligue 1 outings.
