Marseille without Andre Ayew for Europa play-off tie against FC Sheriff

Olympique Marseille are without talisman Andre Ayew for Thursday night's Europa League play-off tie against Moldovan side FC Sheriff.

Ayew failed to recover from an ankle injury he sustained in last Sunday's Ligue 1 clash against Sochaux at home.

The 22-year-old suffered the knock late on in the match and had to be replaced by Florin Raspentino in the 92nd minute.

Coach Elie Baup left out the inspirational winger from his 18-man squad which arrived in Tiraspol on Wednesday night for the first leg.

Marseille are hoping the midfielder will be fit for Sunday's Ligue 1 clash against champions Montpellier.
