Ghana international defender John Boye expressed his domineering aerial superiority by heading home an early-minute opener for Sivasspor in their 2-2 stalemate with Mersin in the Turkish top-flight on Friday night.

The Black Stars center-back, returning to his central defensive duties, raced the host into the lead before 4,123 fans at the Sivas 4 Eylul Stadyumu before Burkina Faso midfielder Djakaridja Kone added to the second strongly put them 2-0 ahead.

Defender Cicero Cicinho weighed in a cross for the former Stade Rennes defender head home and register his second league goal of the season after scoring three weeks ago.

Boye is expected to be included in the Ghana squad to face Canada and Peru in this monthly's international friendly.
