Aduana Stars beat Hasaacas on Wednesday

Aduana Stars kept their survival hopes alive with a smooth 2-0 win over Sekondi Hasaacas at the Agyeman Gyawu Park in Dormaa Ahenkro on Wednesday afternoon.

Two first-half goals from former Hearts of Oak striker James Abban and Fuseini Zuberu lifted the 'Fire Club' to a crucial victory and enhance their survival chances.

Aduana went into the game lying in the relegation zone and were denied access to their first-choice goalkeeper Stephen Adams who in the Ghana squad for the 2014 World Cup.

But the form of Godfred Saka, Emmanuel Akuoku and the experience of Abban helped them to a vital win and move out of the relegation zone.

Abban was relegated to Aduana's second team during the reign of Milislav Bogdanovic as head coach following a reported gun-threatening incident but he returned strong to score a crucial goal to boost his side's survival chances.

Seth Opare was presented with a last-gasp chance to increase the tally for Aduana but his penalty kick was saved palmed away by George Owo.
