Ashanti Gold SC maintained their status in the Ghana topflight after beating league champions Aduana Stars 4-2 on the last day on Sunday.

Hans Kwofie got all four goals for the Miners, the second time he has achieved that this season.

The four goals saw him increased his tally to 17 goals becoming the top scorer this campaign

The visitors made changes in their starting lineup as unknown faces like Michael Amenya, Gabriel Senehia, Muntaka Osman, Gideon Kyeremeh all given minutes to play.

Kwofie opened the scoring for the host in 28th minute after slotting home a pass from Appiah McCarthy.

In the 37th minute, centre back Stephen Anokye Badu handled the ball inside the eighteen box resulting in a penalty to Ashanti Gold SC.

Hans Kwofie stepped up for the kick but hit the woodwork.

Two minutes later, Kwofie doubled the lead with a fine finish from another Appiah McCarthy pass.

In the 48th minute, Hans Kwofie made three for the Miners.

Derrick Sasraku pulled one back for the league winners Aduana Stars in the 56th minutes.

Hans Kwofie completed his second quadruple of the season in the 68th minute following a counter attack by the home side.

Eight minutes from the final whistle, midfielder Elvis Opoku got the second consolation for the Fire Boys.
