Seth Appiah’s brace against Tema Youth in the last match of the Ghana Premier League was enough to steer Berekum Chelsea into safety.
Chelsea started the game like wounded lions as they tried to get a go-ahead goal but their efforts were thwarted by the spirited xx in Tema Youth goal post.
But their incessant attacks would be rewarded after Seth Larbi weaved his way through the defense of Tema Youth to open the scoring for the Blues on the 30th minute mark.
The Harbour Boys came back from recess much more a better side than the first half as they controlled possession but could not break through the defense line of Chelsea.
Seth Appiah finished off the Harbour Boys in the 86th minute with a close range strike after outwitting Stephen Asare on the edge of the box.
Tema Youth tried to half the deficit but Chelsea stood to the test to record an important 2-0 win over the Tema-based side, which effectively dumped them out from the elite division.
