Great Olympics hopes of beating the drop was seriously scraped following their 3-0 defeat to Medeama SC in week 23 of the Ghana Premier League at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday.

Olympics controlled the game in the early stages and looked more dangerous on the counter attack but couldn’t turn their early dominance into goal as the visitors rather opened the scoring in the 24th minute through Justice Blay.

Olympics came in strongly after conceding the goal and created half chances but Medeama goalkeeper Yaw Ansah stood to the test by pulling up impressive saves.

On the 32nd minute mark, Bismark Oppong doubled Medeama’s lead from a close range low shot, which goalkeeper Michael Sai had no answer to.

The game was all set and done in the 77th minute when Latif Salifu extended the Mauves advantage from a goal-mouth melee.

Medeama maintain their 5th position on the standings with 34 points while Olympics hopes of pushing for a late survival looks gloomy with their 15th spot on the log.
