Accra Great Olympics needed two goals from Benjamin Arthur and Cofie Bekoe to see off troubling champions Wa All Stars at the Accra sports stadium on Sunday.

Ahead of the game, head coach Tom Strand is said to have expressed worries about his side's win less run in the second round as they seek to maintain their premiership status and the players did put a smile on his face by returning to winning ways with an impressive win.

By dominating the entire first half of the game, the Wonder Club took lead in the 29th minute after Benjamin Arthur headed home from an Emmanuel Asante free-kick.

Kwame Boateng with a one-on-one situation with the visitors’ goalkeeper Richard Ofori should have made it two before recess but squandered the big opportunity.

The hosts doubled their lead in the 51st minute with experienced Cofie Bekoe scoring one of the best of the season.

Wa All Stars came in strongly in search of a consolation but all efforts proved futile.

Great Olympics remain 15th on the league table whilst Wa All Stars also sit on 12th position.
