Heart of Lions moved further into the safety zone after demolishing relegation-bound Brong Ahafo United 5-0 at the Kpando Park in the Ghana Premier League on Wednesday.

The Giant Killers’ triumph over inspired by a first-half penalty converted by Prince Acquah before Osman Muntaka, Isaac Quansah, Osman Sackey and Gidoen Awuni cemented the victory for the home side.

Lions are among the five clubs battling for survival in the Ghanaian top-flight and needed victory over the already-condemned side.

United, whose relegation was virtually confirmed during the weekend following their home defeat to title contenders Aduana Stars, went into the tie with nothing to lose and looked ready to harass the host.

But they were consigned to an easy defeat as Lions continue to stay afloat the danger zone with four games left to round up the season.
