Kwame Kizito celebrates goals

Hearts of Oak preserved their lead at the top of the table with a 1-0 win over Berekum Chelsea on Wednesday in Accra.

Kwame Kizito climbed off the bench after replacing Samudeen Ibrahim on 71 minutes to score the match winner seven minutes later. The 21-year-old had taken the place of midfielder Samudeen Ibrahim midway through the second-half and he netted the winner late into the game.

It was a match the Phobians had to dig deep to pick the points after Chelsea showed enough fit for the fight.

Their captain Saddick Adams was denied a goal by Soulama Abdoulaye who made double saves.

Hearts remain at the summit of table with a two-point lead going into Sunday's derby clash against Asante Kotoko in Kumasi.

The Phobians maintain their lead at the top of the section, opening a two point gap between themselves and second-placed Wa All Stars but arch-rivals Asante Kotoko are five points behind them in fourth place.
