Hearts of Oak

Hearts of Oak produced yet another hot and cold performance at home to draw 1-1 against a very spirited Inter Allies side.

The Phobians, fresh from picking up an impressive score-line against Wa All Stars in Wa failed and stuttered after being presented with another opportunity to boost their title challenge.

It is said that champions are able to respond and create a fortress at home but the Phobians have failed to win a game at home in their last three outings.

Portuguese coach Kenechi Yatsuhashi kept faith with virtually the same team that made him proud in Wa but this time the answer was very negative.

In a game of drama and few chances the first ball to test a goalkeeper fell to Ackwei Nuhu who warmed the palms of Soulama Abdoulaye who was preferred to Samuel Akrugu again

The goalkeeper reacted very well. That was a warning of what was to come. Kwamina Ropapa Mensah opened the scoring with a fine finish on the 40th minute to ensure the tradition that every team that has come to the Accra Sports stadium in the last five games has scored a goal.

The goal shook the foundation of Hearts of Oak who threw everything away in the end of the first half but tried as they did they failed to get the equalizer.

Hearts of Oak had a fantastic start to the second half with Fredrick Yeboah shown a yellow card out of frustration. Cosmos Dauda and Patrick Razak were seeing more of the ball and were trying to get on the score-sheet.

Ollenu Ashitey who missed the previous game due to illness was thrown in to try and weave his magic but a bright start soon faded.

With seven minutes to go Ollenu sent in a tasty cross and Musah Inusah got a flick to it to pull his side level and most importantly prevented them from losing all three points at home.

Fredrick Boateng was sent off late in the game meaning the Phobians had a man advantage but tried as they did they could not find a way pass the very resolute Inter Allies defense who showed tremendous togetherness and zeal to sneak a point at away from home.

Hearts of Oak will be feeling the heat again after what has been another disappointing outing.
