Match Report: Kotoko 4-0 Aduana - Dethroned champions escape relegation by a mile
Obed Owusu scored in big Kotoko win

Asante Kotoko secured their place in next season’s Ghana Premier League with a resounding 4-0 win over Aduana Stars on Sunday in Kumasi.

The dethroned champions were distantly involved in the final day fight to avoid relegation with six other teams.

But Kotoko made certain of their Premiership status next season primarily through a superb second half display.

Jackson Owusu broke the deadlock for the hosts early in the second half after both teams failed to produce any goal in a hotly contested first half.

Owusu completed his brace minutes later with a converted penalty kick before his former Berekum Chelsea playmate Obed Owusu put the result beyound with a third.

Richard Oti then put a gloss over the impressive second half display by scoring the fourth to see Kotoko expectedly escape the drop.

The Reds finished the season in 6th position as they await the verdict from the appeal they launched into their docked six points over the use of an unqualified player in their Week 25 fixture against Hearts of Oak.
