Match Report: Medeama 0-1 Aduana Stars - 'Fatigued' Mauves blow chance to go second

Published on: 28 July 2016

Medeama missed a glorious opportunity to catapult to second on the Ghana Premier League table after their 1-0 defeat at home to Aduana Stars on Thursday.

Midfield maestro Kwesi Donsu failed to convert a first half penalty as the side paid dearly for their profligacy upfront.

Striker Yahaya Mohammed broke the deadlock and what turned out to be the only goal of the match in the 76th minute at the Tarkwa and Aboso Park.

Mohammed's strike sends him joint-top scorer with 13 goals.

Liberty Professionals wunderkid Latif Attah Blessing has raked in the same number of goals.

Medeama will feel downhearted after they enjoyed the chunk of possession and controlled the pace of the game.

But appears the tight fixture congestion is beginning to bite the team after they accounted for Young Africans 3-1 on Tuesday- just a day interval before this fixture.

The CAF Confederation Cup campaigners travel to Techiman City on Sunday before rounding off their outstanding fixture at Wa All Stars next Wednesday.

The Mauve have slipped to sixth on the table while Aduana have moved within two-points of leaders Hearts of Oak.
