Bismark Idan’s solitary strike gave struggling Premier League side New Edubiase United the much-needed succor as they piped Medeama 1-0 on Saturday.

The burly striker shot powerfully at the bottom corner on 80 minutes after being perfectly teed up by midfielder Abdul Latif Anabila.

Just a minute after that goal, Medeama were reduced to ten men after midfielder Malik Akowuah was red carded for slapping Richard Yeboah.

Before that, the major talking point had been the head-on collision between Fuseinu Nuhu and Medeama goalkeeper Foli Adade.

It looked scary as blood streamed down the faces of both players and that resulted in the game being held up for five minutes.

The two players had to be rushed to a nearby medical centre for further treatments

Edubiase had chances- five as against two for Medeama.

In the 21st minute, Anabila shockingly shot over the frame after being released by enterprising winger Fordjour.

League’s leading scorer Nathaniel Asamoah used his speed and pace to full effect.

He nearly opened the scoring he stole the ball from Ibrahim Samed with his head before entering the box and going on a one-on-one contest with goalkeeper Ben Mensah.

Asamoah cut in from the right and chipped the ball but Mensah palmed in back into play which was later cleared.
