Match Report: New Edubiase Utd 0-0 Great Olympics - Richard Kingson saves 'Wonder Club' from the spot

Published on: 07 June 2015

Former Black Stars goalkeeper Richard Kingson saved Great Olympics from losing at New Edubiase United in Obuasi after saving a last-gasp penalty in a 0-0 stalemate.

The Movers were awarded a late penalty after an Olympics defender committed a foul inside the box but midfielder Ahmed Ibrahim saw his kick saved by the experienced Richard Kingson.

Edubiase, who are languishing in the relegation piled late pressure on their visitors but failed to convert any of their chances until referee Yaw Ametepey did the right thing by awarding them a deserving penalty.

But Kingson made his experience count as he saved the kick to ensure Olympics ended the game with a point.

With Sekondi Hasaacas winning at home, both Olympics and Edubiase will remain firmly in the relegation zone with 19 points apiece.
