Wa All Stars beat Amidaus Professionals 2-0

Wa All Stars have inched closer to a top-four spot at the expense of Amidaus Professionals after posting a comfortable 2-0 victory over the Tema-based side in the Ghana Premier League on Sunday.

Amidaus' defeat means they have dropped to the relegation zone, swapping places with fellow Tema-based side Inter Allies and will have to fight to beat the drop and stay on the top-flight.

Michael Mensah (8th) and Kweku Baffoe (54th) scored in either halves to hand victory to the home side.

All Stars' run had not been very impressive in recent outings but Amidaus' visit brought a good display and a convincing victory.

It took just 8 minute for the host to score as Michael Mensah raced them into the lead with a typical striker's finish.

Amidaus created few opportunities in the entire first-half and All Stars returned from the break to cement victory with Kweku Baffoe scoring in the 54th minute.

They have moved to 6th place with 33 points from 24 games while Amidaus, the vanquished, have a game in hand but are now in the danger-zone.
