Elmina Sharks continued their good form in the Ghana Premier League when they defeated AshantiGold 1-0 at the Papa Kwesi Ndoum Stadium on Saturday.

The league debutantes commenced the game in bright fashion with some intricate passing display and got their reward in the 33rd minute when referee Bernard Dumfe awarded them a penalty, which was duly converted by midfielder Tetteh Nortey to give the home the lead. The home side pressed for the second goal in the second half but the away defence stood firm as the match ended in 1-0 in favour of the league newbies.

The win takes Elaina Sharks to 6th on the log with 12 points.
