Ghana stop-gap coach Maxwell Konadu has defended his choice of Razak Braimah as first choice goalkeeper for the final double 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The Mirandes first choice was selected ahead of Fatau Dauda and Stephen Adams to face Uganda and Togo.

Braimah did disappoint entirely and would be in the books for future calls up but conceded in both games.

Konadu said he decided to field the former Nania FC because he was the most competitive of the three goalkeepers invited for the double-header.

“When you take a look at our three goalkeepers in camp two have not played competitive club football in a while,” Konadu said.

“The other one has been playing competitive club football so it was always going to be difficult to overlook that.

“But aside from that any of them could have come and did a great job.

“The fact that we conceded did not mean it was the fault of the keeper no, as a team we have to collectively take collective responsibility.”
