Maxwell Konadu will be relieved off his post with the Local Black Stars after the side's disastrous campaign in the 2016 COSAFA Cup, according to reports in the local media.

The home-based players crashed out of the competition in an embarrassing fashion losing 2-1 to lowly Madagascar and being thumped 3-0 by Zambia.

Members of the Executive Committee of the Ghana FA have decided to sack him from the post after he failed to guide the team to success.

Konadu will remain assistant to Avram Grant while a new trainer will be appointed to oversee the home-based team.

The Local Black Stars lacked ideas and creativity as they were badly exposed by Madagascar and Zambia in their two games respectively.

The performance of the team again highlighted the perceived poor quality of the local league.
